Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130818-E37C6-2147452946. Matched catalog product: Kenmore Kenmore model no. 790.80323310. Source model text: Kenmore model 790. Incident: I was taking a dish out of my kenmore stove which I purchased at Sears in Waterbury CT. When I reached into the oven to get the dish, I banged my leg against the oven door. It caused me to have a laceration which required 7stitches to close it. The oven door is surrounded by a very sharp metal edge as is also the bottom drawer of the stove. I contacted Sears by e-mail because when I called, the person on the phone said this had to be addressed by e-mail. The person I chatted with said I could not replace the stove but they would repair it, and tried to sell me a package deal for over 200 dollars. I told him the product was defective and Sears had an obligation to repair or replace this dangerous stove with sharp metal edges. He then offered to help me for 70 something dollars. I said I wanted Sears to pay for all repairs since they sod me a defective product.
