Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130824-ED400-2147452719. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Char Broil Char Broil Patio Bistro Gas (LP) Grill, Model 126015 Series. Source model text: 463440109. Incident: Purchased a new Char-Broil Gas Grill in mid July. Had difficulty connecting the gas nozzle to the LP gas tank. After 30+minutes finally thought had it connected without obvious leak but ensure turn gas off at tank after every use and check for leaks when turn it on. On Thursday, 22 AUG turned gas on at tank and immediately heard hissing sound and smelled gas. Turned gas off and tried to tighten but nozzle was on as far as would go . Tried turning on and hissing was diminished but still present. Turned off again. There is an obvious problem with the design of the nozzle, it is incapable of making a secure connection to the LP gas tank leading to a very hazardous condition if not noticed by the consumer. I've never seen an LP nozzle this difficult to connect.
