Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20131213-B69A6-2147449094. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire Item #5300950|Model #FCFE3062AS. Source model text: FGES3065KBA. Incident: Woke up at 4AM to the smoke alarm going off. Frigidaire smooth stove top burner had spontaneously turned on and ignited an item on the stove top. In attempting to turn the element off, found that only way to turn it off was to turn the dial to High. High is off, and the detent position of Off leaves the burner on high now. The controls are electronic, so it is not a mistaken position of the knob. The symptoms are exactly the same as an existing recall, but my model number is not covered in the existing recall.
