Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140101-766AE-2147448616. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire Electric Range Model FFEF3054TS. Source model text: GLEB30S9DBA. Incident: Frigidaire Wall Oven Model GLEB30S9DBA. My wife was using this oven to cook dinner, and she heard beeping and smelled burning electrical. All the LEDs were illuminated, and she couldn't open the oven because the oven lock had engaged. I came and inspected, and suspected an electrical fire. I ran downstairs to throw the circuit breaker, which then stopped the smoke and beeping. After removing the control panel, I noticed the back of the control board was burned. I inspected our other oven (we have 2 wall mounted ovens, both the same model), and it had minor burns on the back of it was well, but was working fine. This is clearly a manufacturing failure, and not an isolated incident. The home and ovens are only 8 years old.
