Source model text: BVMC-SJX36GTWM. Incident: We bought a brand new Mr. Coffee maker from Wal- Mart. Model BVMC-SJX36GTWM upon initially running water through the coffee maker, the top of the handle detached from the pot. My wife snapped the handle back on. Water was spilled all over the cabinet. The following morning we tried to make coffee and the same thing happened. This presents a very dangerous situation, hot coffee can be spilled on someone, being secured at only one point the pot can shatter, sending hot coffee and glass everywhere. There is no adjustment in the band that holds the lower part of the handle to the pot.
