Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140417-CAF0E-2147445352. Matched catalog product: GE GE ProfileTM Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwa. Source model text: profile. Incident: The oven had a loud bang and a fire while baking a pie. The fire went out quick as the door was closed. We noticed after cool down that a 2 inch by 1/8 inch burn through the metal surround around the fan. This is a convection oven named the Profile by General Electric. Our email to GE has not been answered. We seek no refund as the range/oven is 10 years old. We do not believe an oven should cause a fire or burn through metal.
