Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140529-DF83A-2147444105. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Hamilton Beach Griddle Model# 38518R, Power Adapter Model# ZL203. Source model text: 3 in 1 Grill/Griddle Model 38546. Incident: Hamilton Beach reversible griddle G43. Bacon grease does not drain into the grease trap very well. Instead it collects on the griddle then seeps down between the two reversible griddle plates and has the potential to come in contact with the electric heating elements. Creating a fire hazard. I have had several occasions where smoke has come from under the griddle plates but no fire.
