Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140713-44479-2147442931. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Char Broil Char Broil Patio Bistro Gas (LP) Grill, Model 126015 Series. Source model text: 463268806. Incident: My husband was cooking burgers on our Char Broil Commercial Series Grill (Model number 463268806) that was connected to our gas line. He made eight burgers without incident and then placed eight more on the grill. Suddenly, flames became very large and would not extinguish. The fire had a different smell and red flames. We had to quickly disconnect from the gas line and smother the flames with baking soda. After the fire was out, it was obvious that the metal at the base of the grill had caught fire.
