Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20140723-3C881-2147442605. Matched catalog product: Kenmore Kenmore 796. 91383410. Source model text: 796.4127. Incident: I purchased a Kenmore front loading washer in October 2012 from Sears. Model 796.4127. S/N 209PNXL10226. The rubber gasket in the washer does not drain and holds water. It has black mildew on it which does not come off. It makes all of the wash smell like mildew and is ruining our clothes. I use the self cleaning function on the washer and regularly scrub the rubber gasket, however mildew builds up in areas that can not be reached. This problem has continued to get worse since first purchased. I see the reviews of the washer complain of the same problem. This item should be recalled. It is a defect to this product and a health concern for my family.
