Source model text: Mr. Coffee. Incident: On Wednesday, September 3, 2014 after pouring the final cup of coffee from the carafe of a Mr. Coffee coffee maker, I attempted to turn off the unit by pushing the off switch. Upon applying pressure to the rocker switch pad a sharp cracking sound occured and an arc of electrical flame shot from the switch burning and blackening my index finger. I disconnected the power cord from the electrical outlet and observed that there was a small burn point on the switch pad which was frozen in the off position.
