Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20141112-F3401-2147438968. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: KIDDE KN-COSMXTR-BA. Source model text: Model # KN-COSMXTR-BA (P/N 21008046). Incident: Our water cooler caught on fire, and our alarm did not work at all. We became aware of the fire only by the smell. Thankfully it was contained in time, and there was minimal damage and no injuries. We bought the alarm for use in China, because apartments do not have safety features here. We purchased it in Massachusetts at Home Depot. After the fire I tested the alarm and it seemed to be working. It went through the test sequence.
