Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20141119-3FC73-2147438716. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Kidde Smoke Alarm model P4010DCS-W and p4010DCSCO-W. Source model text: Model P3010B. Incident: Brand new Kidde Smoke Detector failed with constant alarm 4 days after being installed and activated. Alarm was of the type with a lifetime (10 year) battery that is activated when the alarm is first mounted to the bracket. Pressing the Hush button would silence for 10 minutes. Must be a common defect as Kidde Customer Service did not seem at all surprised when I called to complain and get a new unit.
