Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20141124-61AB4-2147438562. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Honda HS1132TAS (Honda Snowblower). Incident: I have a Honda Snowblower that after using it for the first time this winter and shutting off the gas to it, we came out the next day to gasoline on the floor of the garage and a very strong smell of gasoline fumes. The fuel was leaking around the fuel tank joint O-ring. After doing some research, I found that this model of Honda snowblower had been recalled although it was not in the affected frame serial number range, even though it was manufactured within the time frame of the defective ones. According to Honda, even products that are affected by the recall, if they are out of warranty they, will have to be repaired at the owners expense. To me that is not a very safe situation, I could just sell it without disclosing the problem and have someone else with a dangerous situation. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2011/American-Honda-Recalls-Snowblowers-Due-to-Fire-Hazard/
