Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150113-5813C-2147436538. Matched catalog product: Cuisinart TOB-40. Incident: Have owned this product for 2 1/2 years. Recently -- but it took a while to notice -- the front lower heating element has become more and more warped, until it is now curved almost halfway to the rear element. Looking online I found numerous reports of the identical problem, eventually leading to the element splitting and potentially catching fire.
