Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150225-183B6-2147435065. Matched catalog product: Kenmore 405 73163310. Source model text: 405.73169310. Incident: Sporadically when microwave unit is turned on to heat food the interior light will come on but the neither magnetron nor the motor that turns the plate the food sits on will function. Numeric timer display counts down but there seems to be no power going to the magnetron or the table motor. I can unplug the unit for a period of time (varies from a few seconds to a few hours) and the unit appears to reset and heats foods appropriately. The malfunction is not dependent upon a cold start or the amount of time the unit's run, it's random but frequent. If the unit is running it will run for the set amount of time, malfunction only occurs when 'start' is pressed.
