Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150325-5256D-2147434243. Matched catalog product: LG LRG3081st100. Source model text: G3. Incident: I plugged my LG G3 cell phone into the charging cord it came with and left it on the counter. A short time later I began to smell an odd odor. I searched the house for the odor but l couldn't locate the source, until I went to use my phone. As I attempted to unplug it I realized the charging cable was now melted to the case of the phone at the charging port. The phone was extremely hot and the case was slightly melted. The phone was still functioned but I was unable to charge it due to the port being destroyed.
