SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20150821-59E42-1511517. Matched catalog product: Supco SCM150. Incident: August 13, 2015 - the Supco SCM150 surge protection unit connected to the electric sub panel of an A/C system malfunctioned and caught on fire. It burned/melted at its location next to a private residence. Damage was limited to the surge protection unit which burnt/melted. The side of the house was blackened by the fire.
