Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20160216-BAF9F-2147421699. Matched catalog product: LG LG Gas range, Model LDG4313BD. Source model text: LRG30357ST. Incident: The knobs melt and crack on our LG gas range model number LRG30357ST. The range was purchased new in 08/2009 and the knobs began melting/cracking within a year. LG has sent "one time courtesy" replacements 3-4 times now and the most recent set began breaking after only 7.5 months. When the knobs break they do not always turn off and have caused gas leaks. The replacements offered online and through LG's parts supplier are cost prohibitive and defective anyway so the risk increases.
