Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20160430-CD865-2147419847. Severity: Unspecified. Matched catalog product: Gree Gree Soleus Air GL-DEH-30-1. Source model text: GL-DEH-30-1. Incident: I have a SoleusAir Dehumidifier, powered by GREE, model #GL-DEH-30-1, purchased about May 2006. Late last summer and again now when I attempt to turn it on, it trips the circuit breaker to which the plug is attached. I tried cleaning the filter, and also ensured the hose drain was not plugged. Then in searching for how to repair, I came across the CPSC recall notice for these dehumidifiers. Fortunately, the circuit breaker tripping prevented any damage or injury because the unit just wouldn't run. Obviously, it must have been drawing significant current for this to happen, which could I suppose eventually have led to an electrical fire.
