Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20160620-84C1B-2147417675. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Kenmore 795-77314-6000. Source model text: 795.77314600. Incident: 795.77314600 Kenmore refrigerator. Opened the refrigerator last night to find the control board and lamp cover melting, because the light bulbs had not turned off. This is the second time this has occurred. The first time it had only melted the lamp cover, which I had to replace. This time the entire control unit has melted. After doing some research, it turns out this is a known issue with the PCB board and there has been a class action suit, resulting in an extended warranty on these parts. I have contacted Sears and they don't have any record of the issue, or the extended warranty. They either want to schedule a tech to come out (for a $95 fee) or they give me another number to call, with no results.
