Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20160915-7E5F6-1594388. Matched catalog product: Tassimo Tassimo Cappuccino. Source model text: T20. Incident: We purchased the above referenced coffee maker in anticipation of relocating to the beach after my husband's retirement. However, we decided not to relocate until I retired last month, and therefore, kept this item in the carton to provide ease in moving. When we unpacked it last weekend, as we were moving in, we placed the pod in as directed and were surprised with a shower of water all over the counter. Thankfully, we were not near the coffeemaker and did not get burned. We cleaned up the "explosion" and made sure that we had inserted it correctly and tried again, but the same occurred. We are certain that the pods were inserted properly since we have one of these at our office and it works in the same fashion and has never given this problem. We would, therefore, like to return this for a credit or for an exchange of a similar coffeemaker, perhaps a [REDACTED], without the pod, since this seems to be the culprit. We could then continue to enjoy our favorite Gevalia coffees since they, too, are available [REDACTED].
