Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20160925-A0758-2147413724. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Hamilton Beach Model: 25475W (Breakfast Sandwich Maker Purchased at Wal-Mart on January 22, 2016 Model: 25475W Series: A4151DX). Incident: Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker Purchased at Wal-Mart on January 22, 2016 Model: 25475W Series: A4151DX On September 18, 2016, the wire-coil-protected cord on the Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker sparks and emits a burnt odor. This is our second unit. The first one started on fire about a month after the warranty period (purchased the first one in 2015; it died January 2016). This second appliance I purchased at Wal-Mart on January 22,2016. I have the receipt. Yes, I bought the breakfast sandwich maker again, even though the first had flamed out on my kitchen countertop. I thought, "What are the chances the breakfast sandwich maker would self-immolate a second time?" Turns out: pretty good. I contacted Hamilton Beach about the issue and they sent me a mailing label to send back Sparky. And they've sent me a new appliance. Right. I have a third breakfast sandwich maker. I know, I know. But what are the chances?
