Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20161121-6C4D4-2147410518. Matched catalog product: LG lrg4115st. Incident: I am concerned about a potential safety hazard involving the knob assembly on the front of an LG gas range, model LRG4115ST, that we had installed on November 8. The knobs are too easily turned from the off position with incidental contact, causing gas to start leaking. This has happened repeatedly both when using other burners on the cooktop, but just as frequently when not using the range at all, but merely standing close doing other tasks. My concern is that there's a potential for a gas buildup and explosion, or a fire if the burner is ignited.
