Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20161224-C5968-2147408952. Matched catalog product: Breville BOV800XL. Incident: I own many Breville products and have given two of their smaller convections to both of my older children. I purchase these products for their perceived quality. Unfortunately my oven door spring broke and has now rendered my oven unsafe and unusable. This is clearly a design flaw on this model and repairs should be covered by extended warranty. Paying excessive $100 charge to replace defective and poorly designed spring is unacceptable. I like the item and products, but this problem and design issue is a challenge. Absent a satisfactory response of free repair or replacement from Breville, I will be forced to publish incident informal to their major distribution channels.
