Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20161230-D4E26-2147408693. Matched catalog product: LG LG Gas range, Model LDG4313BD. Source model text: LGD4311ST aka LGD4315ST100. Incident: I've identified a serious safety problem with this range. I am 5'4", the average height of an American female. Several times over the past week I have engaged a knob and started burners while reaching to either start an oven function or use the over-the-stove microwave. Today, I put a cup of tea in the microwave and walked out of the room. I walked back in several minutes later to the strong odor of gas. I believe the knobs, which are located on the front of the unit, are too sensitive to weight and far too easy to engage. (I did not even feel the knob when I put the cup in the microwave.) I believe this is definitely an engineering flaw and should be addressed immediately before someone sets themselves on fire or blows their house up.
