SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170112-8AA42-2147408165. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: DeLonghi EW7707CM Safeheat 1500W ComforTemp Portable Oil-Filled. Incident: I conducted a fire scene exam of a residence and concluded that a fire originated in either a plug and/or in a oil filled heater. The occupant further advised me that he had another unit by the same manufacturer that malfunctioned approx 1 year earlier. The occupant received burns to his face as a result of searching for his wife in the fire, who did escape.
