Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170115-EBDD4-2147408033. Severity: Injury, Level of care not known. Product: Shark vacuum model 352 NV352 (Shark vacuum NV352). Incident: I recently purchased a Shark navigator Model NV352 vacuum for my house. The vacuum works great as a vacuum but when vacuuming it gives a regular (every 5 seconds) gives me an electrical shock that is either a short or is as a result of a great amount of static buildup. I can actually see the electrical arc jumping to my fingertip. I did call the Shark support line and the tech suggested that this was a minor issue and that I needed to rub a static dryer sheet all over it. This did not work nor was there a basic understanding that electrical buildup needs to seek a grounding. This is dangerous.
