Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170117-69346-2147407957. Matched catalog product: Samsung destroyed in fire. Most likely WA45H7000AW or WA52. Source model text: WA45H7000AW. Incident: I purchased a Samsung topload washer and dryer set in July of 2015. On December 29, 2016 after a couple of small loads of laundry the washer Model WA457000AW began violently slamming against the dryer and surrounding walls. I stopped the cycle and checked the load to reset it in case it was off balance... the clothes were evenly dispersed and way below the recommended max load size. Upon restarting the spin cycle to finishing drying them, the motor would power up but the drum would not spin until 3 to 4 minutes in and then the drum began slamming inside the housing again. Upon finding the unit was recalled, I found hundreds of reviews of shoddy repairs being done by Dish Network employees contracted by Samsung.. simply adding a bracket to keep the lid from blowing off... not fixing the stripped motor and drum, mold and mildew, broken housing or glass lid, or damaged property. I also learned we are being told to affix a COVER UP LABEL over the control panel to trick us into washing bedding and bulky loads on DELICATE by way of placing this sticker over the old controls. THIS IS NOT ALLOWING US TO USE THESE MACHINES AS ADVERTISED, IMPLIED, OR INTENDED. I WAS SOLD A MACHINE ADVERTISED AS A LARGE CAPACITY WASHER WITH VIBRATION REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY CAPABLE OF WASHING BULKY ITEMS AND BEDDING WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MACHINE, THE INTEGRITY OF MY HOME, MY PETS SAFETY, MY SAFETY AND MY FINANCES
