Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170226-7C481-2147405686. Matched catalog product: Coby COBY TFDVD170 Portable DVD Players With Built-in TV Tuner. Source model text: TFDVD1973. Incident: My Coby TFDVD1973 19 inch television set went up in flames this morning. I was fortunate that I wasn't injured and my house didn't burn down, but I have a lot of smoke damage. There was no power surge or any electrical system issue, all other electronics in the house are fine. The Coby TV, which was powered on, just made a lot of noise, started shooting up black smoke, and then lit up in flames. I just barely prevented the curtains from catching fire.
