Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170327-1BCD9-2147404817. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux EFLS617STTOl (Electrolux Model EFLS617STTO Serial 4C70808240). Incident: I purchased an Electrolux EFLS617STTO washer and Dryer from Howard's In Riverside,CA on 12/1/17. The machine being brand new and the combo costing almost 3,000 dollars has been breaking down non-stop. First the drum on the unit came out and almost caused injury to myself and my family, and there were components that could possibly catch themselves on fire. Howard's first refused to exchange the unit or refund the money. Both Howard's and Electrolux fully aware of the defects of the machine, they both refused to refund our money and after much struggle they exchange the unit with the same model and manufacturer. Our replacement was delivered on March 13, 2017 and in less than 10 days the water valve in the washer broke almost causing massive flooding and electrocution. We are now without a washer and dryer, and Electrolux or Howard's are refusing to refund on the item. They are also unwilling to accept that these units are extremely unsafe and can cause harm to both humans and property.
