Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170503-928E3-2147403802. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Weber Genesis E310 Natural Gas Barbecue Grill. Source model text: Genesis 310. Incident: Gas Weber grill has three knobs on it to control the gas on the front. The knobs are extremely easy to turn. They need to be pushed to turn, but with the knobs on the front the grill cover will easily push them in. In the wind the cover moves and turns the knobs on. We have found our gas grill on many times when we uncover it, and it is connected to the house natural gas line. We will be outside and smell gas and immediately go to the grill. The knob design in unsafe. I contacted Weber about the problem and they sent me a new grill cover because they thought that was the problem, but it is not. The knob design is terrible and requires almost no effort to turn them on.
