Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170811-6A611-1686320. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung WA5451ANWXAA01 (Washing Machine). Incident: The consumer indicates that her washing machine started shaking violently approximately one year after it was purchased. The consumer later learned of the recall of her unit and contacted the Manufacturer in order to schedule a service repair. 02/24/2017 - The Service Technician performed the remedy however while there, the consumer contacted Samsung and they approved, under the extended one-year warranty, for the Service Technician to replace the washing machine's lid, soap dispenser, and bleach drawer as they were all rusting. The Service Technician informed the consumer that he would not install two of the bolts since another Service Technician would be doing the replacement; eventually this second service repair was a no-show. The consumer has been in communication with the Manufacturer ever since regarding the replacement of the unit's rusting parts however she keeps getting the run-around being told that they do not have all parts. The consumer states that the washing machine still shakes violently, and the repair did not address the safety hazard it was recalled for.
