Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20170929-BBB6E-2147397097. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Frigidaire FFES3025PWA (White oven and stove-top). Incident: On 09/27/17 my Frigidaire oven door exploded sending glass throughout the kitchen, giving me two minor cuts. This is the second time this has happened. The first was on 06/19/17. Frigidaire replaced the door and it was installed by Jensen Appliance on 07/21/17. When I called Frigidaire on 09/28/17 they told me there was nothing they could do, and suggested it was my fault. I called KGMH (channel7) and they did a news report/video the evening of 09/28. Today the parent company, Electrolux, called to schedule a repairman to come determine if the explosion was a result of "a malfunction or misuse" They maintain the temepered glass meets all governmental standards. However, it shouldn't be shooting out of the oven explosively. It appears to me that the glass is glued in 2 places to the frame. A screw goes through the glass from the back, and then into the handle. If the screw becomes loose, pulling on the handle releases the glass. These explosions are not news to Electrolux. My concern is that if two glass shards drew blood on me, what if they went into a child's eye, or a nearby pet?
