Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20171211-BD217-2147394688. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Energizer Energizer Industrial. Source model text: None. Incident: I was taking a AA Energizer battery out of a 16 battery pack of which I had already used several and inserting it in a decoration. My hand and my fingers immediately began to burn from extreme heat. I finally took it to my husband to make sure I wasn't imagining things and he confirmed that the battery was extremely hot. I finally decided to put the battery outside where it was about 40 degrees. Then I put it in a ceramic bowl outside since out deck railing is wood.. It is cool right now but I am afraid to bring it in the house or put it in the trash since I am sure it would heat up again and cause a fire. This battery is really hot.
