SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180105-EEF13-2147393970. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Whirlpool WFE515S0ESSKU (Whirlpool - 5.3 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - Stainless steel Model: WFE515S0ESSKU: 3490077). Incident: I need help! I have an unbelievably TOXIC CHEMICAL smell coming from my oven since I've owned it and it has NOT gone away after 6 months!! Both myself, my mother and my boyfriend have been suffering with headaches, sore throats, dizziness and nauseu only when the oven is on! I had a service tech out today under my warranty for the first time, and he didn't even turn the thing on to smell it! He looked at it and left, and said to run a self clean cycle. After only an hour, each of my neighbors on the 9th floor of my condo all called the firedept and knocked on my door because they were sure there was a chemical fire in my place. The self clean did nothing but make it much much worse. This is not normal, toxic and we are borderline about to vomit every day it turns on. It was purchased brand new from best buy less than 6 months ago. My mom has lupus and is now suffering with chest pains. This must be expedited to either fix it, or inform whirlpool it MUST be replaced since it's still under warranty. I refuse to smell that noxious poison again. My nostrils are burning and my head is killing me. This is toxic.
