Incident: Caller is reporting that she was preparing bacon on her stove for approximately 15-17 mins she had just flipped it over, she walked away for about a min when she returned she noticed that the kitchen was engulfed in smoke. Caller stated that she reached for the skillet with the lid while removing it the lid opened exposing the flames which erupted and caused her hair to burn. She received minor burns to her face. No medical attention was received. Caller stated that the stove had increased temperature which caused the incident to occur. She contacted the manufacturer and they advised her that the unit was out of warranty and was unable to assist her. Caller feels that this range is a fire hazard and should be recalled. Injury information: Long hair on side of face ignited burning neck both sides where hair was- facial hair ignited. Right thumb also received flesh burn. I treated minor burns with [REDACTED] ointment Incident occurred 3-23-18
