Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180531-5E121-1765198. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux PLES389ECE (Knobs on range). Incident: This caller is reporting her range knobs She lives in a Condo development with two buildings built in 1805 and 1910 these two building were connected around 2007. She and her husband moved in around 2007 and the appliances were already in the condo. She noticed very, very early that the knobs on her range are turned extremely easily, however she realized May 28th, 2018 that the range turned itself on and the fire department advised her that this fire reached 1000 degrees. This is after switches were replaced a year ago. She did contact the manufacturer who advised her that they will send her new switches and moisture barriers because there may be an electrical short. She is waiting for the delivery of these items so that hopefully she will be the repair she has been waiting for. I added photo and information on CPSC website
