Incident: While using my Ryobi 8amp Jet Fan Blower Model RY42102, S/N EU16040D17502 on June 8, 2018, the plastic fan inside the blower broke causing the fan blades to be discharged from the blower. I had previously received a recall notification (dated March 2, 2017) on March 21, 2017. I called on March 22, 2017 as per the notice for instructions to return the defective product. Recording informed me of high volume of calls, so I submitted a written message on the website asking they email me instructions for returning the defective product. I received a standard response on March 23, 2017 asking for patience and they will get back with me. I did not receive a response so I sent a follow up written message on March 25, 2017, and I received the same standard written response on March 28, 2017. I never did receive an response from Ryobi or, One World Tecnologies, Inc. to return the defective product. I had used the product to blow debris off my patio. Om June 8, 2018 when I went to use the device, the moment I turned it on, it exploded send fan parts in multiple directions. I immediately turned it off and set the device down and disconnected the electrical power. No injuries were sustained fortunately.
