Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180723-67F5B-2147386631. Matched catalog product: Ryobi model P108; part number 130429075. Source model text: P108. Incident: I was using my Ryobi 18 volt hybrid blower to clear my driveway of grass clippings, using a battery not a power cord when it stopped working. I removed the battery & found a melted mess on the battery stub [pos. side] & a melted inside of my blower. Ryobi says the battery's are out of warrantee & they can't help. The blower is in warrantee & I have to take to The Home Depot tool rental for a repair. I'm afraid to charge these battery's indoors any more because of a fire.
