Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180803-6848C-2147386413. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux EFMG517SIW (Natural Gas Dryer). Incident: We purchased an Electrolux EFMG517SIW gas dryer on December 24th, 2016. After 1 year the dryer started making an awful noise. I called Electrolux and informed them of what was happening. they said my warranty had just expired, however all parts would be included but not the labor. They sent their certified Electrolux repair company. They proceeded to take apart my entire dryer. I was supervising as they were still asking questions. When they finished removing all of the outside casing of the dryer they came across with the motor and blower wheel. the blower wheel was completely full of lint. They proceeded to comment that they had never seen that particular design and cleaned out the blower wheel, they could not figure out what caused it. No parts were replaced. After a hefty $300 invoice, I contacted Electrolux explained everything that was said and they sent me a new lint holder, they seemed to know that this was an issue. I emphasized that this was a fire hazard especially considering that it is a gas dryer. A few months later I noticed that the blower wheel which is sort of visible from the lint holder is full again. I contacted Electrolux they basically told me to have someone service it and they could not do anything about it. I have had dryers prior to this and never had a problem. This is a severe Fire HAZARD, and they are not willing to do anything about it.
