SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180810-9EC5E-2147386257. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Supco Supco SCM150. Incident: Fire Unites were called out to a residence for a fire investigation, the Supco SCM150 surge protector was in use, wired to the breaker panel to a HVAC unit, and same was installed directly to the exterior vinyl siding of the house. The Supco SCM 150 unit failed causing fire damage to the vinyl siding and wall surface of the home.
