Incident: Recently purchased a Kenmore Elite Washing Machine (clothes) Model # 110.31632611, Type 706-01. Today (8/15/2018) the tempered glass lid spontaneously shattered, launching broken pieces of glass into the recess area and kitchen where the unit resides. After further review online, it appears that this is a common and recurrent problem with the 31633 and 31632 models:
