Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180817-4239C-2147386102. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: GE JGB850SEF2SS (GE gas oven. 30 in. 5-burner 2.5 cu ft/4.3 cu ft self cleaning double oven gas range (stainless steel) Model #JGB850SEF2SS Serial #ZD180502P). Incident: I purchased a GE gas oven 3/2015. Model#JGB850SEF2SS. Serial#ZD180502P. On 8/13/10 I set my oven to 350 degrees to bake two meatloafs. Placed them in the oven. When I had 20 min left on my microwave timer, I went to the oven to check them. I heard the grease boiling in the oven. I yelled to my husband to get the meatloafs out before a fire started as the oven was incredibly hot to the touch. The oven had a F20 error on the panel. We got the oven booklet out and followed the procedure listed to shut the oven off as its temperature kept rising. We couldnt get the oven to turn off. We called the fire department to our home to help us. When they got here they turned off the breaker outside. They had to use oven mitts to pull the oven out to reach the gas line as the oven was so hot you couldnt even touch it. They turned off the gas line for us and made sure everything was ok and left. On 8/14/18 I called GE Customer Service. I was assigned case [REDACTED] & a man named [REDACTED]. He told me the error F20 meant exceeding selected temp. He said there was no recall on my oven. They are sending Accord Appliance to my home on 8/18/18 to look at the oven. My meatloafs were burnt to a crisp, pans burnt and ruined. My house could have burned down. I dont want this oven repaired. I am so fearful it will happen again. What can I do?
