SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180828-C91C6-1788134. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Sunbeam TSSTBTRSB04 (Toaster). Incident: The consumer indicates that the toaster was turned on when it spontaneously ignited. The consumer unplugged the unit. The consumer notes that there were damages to the kitchen cabinets, the hood above the oven range, the kitchen ceiling, and the wall behind the cabinets. 06/20/2018 - The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative she spoke to filed a claim under Case Number: [REDACTED]; the consumer was also informed that she would be receiving a replacement toaster. The consumer sent the Manufacturer the toaster. 08/27/2018 � The consumer contacted the Manufacturer to inquire about the status of her claim; she was informed that it was denied because their technician could not replicate a fire. Because of this reason, the Manufacturer would not be covering the damages the consumer reported. The consumer indicates that, prior to the incident, the toaster was used two to three times per week.
