Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20181006-86C0C-2147385177. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire subsidiary of Electrolux FGGF3047TFB (Frigidaire Gallery 5.0 cu ft Gas Range with self cleaning quickbake convection oven in smudge proof stainless steel.). Incident: We purchased a Frigidaire Gas Range, Model # FGGF3047TFB Serial # VF82838651,from Home Depot online on 9/7/18 and had it professionally installed on 9/18/18 by Hankwitz Heating & Cooling of Ludington, MI ph. 231-843-2809. The installation technician did not catch the defect described below, nor did he adjust burners as this was preset at the factory I suppose. We noticed a problem from the point we first used the smallest burner element as described below. There is a defect in the smallest burner element (rear right location) so that when you light it and turn it to a low setting (from 2 to low) the flame goes off but the gas continues to be emitted. All other burners which are larger do not do this only the smallest one. I reported it to the manufacturer and spoke with a [REDACTED] [REDACTED] at extension [REDACTED] and an[REDACTED] a Frigidaire corporate supervisor that [REDACTED] connected me with. I told both of them in detail about my concerns for the gas leak and explosion hazard this product currently indicates. They set me up for a repair appointment scheduled for a Gregorys Repair Service at 231-768-4558 for 10/18/18. [REDACTED] assured me they would look into this problem at the point of manufacture. I told her that is exactly what I wanted to hear. I also emailed and phoned Home depot at 1-877-946-9843 and told first an [REDACTED] a home delivery support representative, then a [REDACTED] a customer care rep of the problem. She referred/transferred me to Frigidaire and Recall.gov. If this problem is a problem with other units sold as well then it is a serious safe
