Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20181110-884D8-2147384525. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Rheem Performance Platinum Electric Water Heater - XE80T12EC55U0. Source model text: XE50T 12EC55U0. Incident: We have a Rheem water heater. Model # XE50T 12EC55U0, Serial # Q251402288. My 7 year old son was taking a shower and could not turn off the water. He said the shower handle was shocking him. I went and checked and it most definantley was charged with electricity. Not long after that the water heater started beeping and has an A104 Error Code displayed. There are no visible leaks on the unit but must have a leak inside the tank allowing it to become electrically charged. So I immediately turned the unit off and our shower is no longer charged. The water heater unit is fairly new.
