Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190113-BAC47-2147383284. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool WFG320M0BS3. Incident: The tempered glass panel on our oven range shattered while the oven was operating. We were baking cookies at 350 degrees when the handle of the oven door broke loose on 1 side. A couple of minutes later as we tried to open the door we heard an explosive "boom" noise and the glass shattered and blew out. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The entire front glass panel on the oven door was destroyed, but not the inside glass panel of the door. We turned off the oven and waited a few minutes for everything to cool down, and we cleaned up the glass. The oven was only 6 months old.
