Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190114-0035D-2147383262. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux EFMG617STT0 (Electrolux Front Load Clothes Dryer). Incident: We had a few loads of clothes that we noticed were burning/melting. The first time it happened we just thought something ended up in the load of laundry other than clothes. After this happened a couple more times, I looked in the dryer and noticed that the back vent (I'm not exactly sure what the correct term is) is black and has something melted to it. I contacted Electrolux and I was told they know that their dryers get to hot and the technicians have a kit for completing the repair. However, I would be required to pay for the repair because it's out of warranty even though we bought it in Sept/Oct 2016. This is a mute point though. Since this is a known fire hazard and safety issue, these dryers should be RECALLED!! I did an internet search and found many other people who have complained about the same issue confirming that this is an issue with Electrolux dryers.
