Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190202-5AC71-2147382935. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux Model PLEF398CCB (Electrolux Electric range model PLEF398CCB. Ceramic smooth top range, four top burners plus one warming burner, electric self cleaning convection oven, lower warming drawer. Stainless steel front, black sides.). Incident: Electrolux electric range model PLEF398CCB: Smoothtop range burners will not turn off after use, and during use will go to maximum high heat continuously. They would not even tell me exactly what the problem was, but indicated that the control knobs, as well as other electrical components needed to be replaced. They refused to give me the part numbers for the replacement parts required, and stated that the repairs had to be done by a registered repair person sent by Electrolux. Again, they refused to send a repair person without a complete serial number. The Electrolux representative agreed that this problem was in fact dangerous from both a burn and fire perspective, but still re
