Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190218-FEA0E-2147382635. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NX58M6630S (Freestanding, Samsung Gas Range, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e). Incident: On February 13, the panel that controls oven functions on my Samsung Gas Range, which we have owned since August 1, 2018, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e, ceased to function causing me to be unable to shut off the 425 degree oven. This same control panel had been replaced on or about November 29, 2018 for a similar occurrence. Any time I cook something on the range burners and use the oven at the same time, the control panel malfunctions. One time this happened, various oven functions were randomly turned on and off until the panel cooled down. Because I am unable to reliably cancel oven functions and because oven functions randomly begin, I am very afraid of this gas range causing a fire. I believe that Samsung should remove this gas range from being sold until this manufacturing defect is resolved
